We are proud to announce our recent acquisition of TRYMER™ polyisocyanurate pipe insulation from The Dow Chemical Company – as well as exclusive rights to offer its extruded polystyrene pipe insulation billets. This strategic transaction will broaden our range of high-quality insulation solutions. While we transition our printed and electronic literature to reflect these additional products, a process we have now begun, you may view our developing web documentation to read more.

We also manufacture Temperlite™ perlite thermal insulation, a rigid, high temperature, water resistant molded perlite thermal insulation available in either block, pipe or molded fitting form.  It is extremely resistant to water absorption, it neither causes nor promotes stress corrosion cracking of austenitic stainless steel and it has tested for excellent thermal insulating properties and fire resistance.

ITW Insulation Systems announces new Perlite facility  
Press Release October 21, 2008 (Updated November 12, 2008) - ITW Insulation Systems, a division of Illinois Tool Works, announces plans to build a new Perlite manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas.
S & B Consulting LLC will assist with the design and construction of the new, state-of-the-art facility. Gary Sproule, Principal of S & B has over 30 years experience in Perlite manufacturing. Utilizing ITW's financial strength and market presence, this new plant represents a tremendous growth opportunity for ITW Insulation Systems.
ITW Insulation Systems has recently purchased two Perlite facilities in Monterrey, Mexico and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which is currently under expansion to meet demands in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. The new plant will be operational in approximately one year and represents the company's third and largest investment to date. These investments display the confidence ITW Insulation Systems has in the Perlite product as a superior insulation that reduces mechanical abuse and combats corrosion under insulation (CUI) in power plants and petrochemical applications.
"The additional capacity will help us keep up with the growing demand for Perlite products globally," says Larry Keiner, Vice President and General Manager of ITW Insulation Systems. "Furthermore, coupled with our existing product lines of Pabco-Childers Metals, Trymer and XPS, we have positioned the company for continued growth inside the energy sector."

July 10 - ITW Insulation System's parent company, Illinois Tool Works, Inc. (ITW) announced that it has acquired the assets of TRYMER™ polyisocyanurate (PIR) rigid foam business from Dow Chemical.  The TRYMER plant is based in LaPorte, Texas and manufactures PIR foam used in pipe and mechanical insulation, panel insulation, and floral and craft among other applications. The agreement also includes a provision for Dow to supply ITW with extruded polystyrene (XPS) pipe insulation billets for the mechanical insulation market.  Read more . . .
